Our FAQ's.

There is no clear explanation of PTSD causes. It is important to note, however, that when you experience a traumatic event, your brain will react differently to stress by readjusting the way it regulates chemicals and hormones.

You are more likely to suffer from PTSD if you have a family or personal history of depression or anxiety. You are also at risk if you have experienced trauma, are addicted to drugs, or don’t have a strong social or emotional support system.

In order to determine whether ketamine IV infusion therapy is right for you, an Anesthetist/ Anesthesiologist performs a thorough consultation with you. A series of six infusion sessions is often recommended to begin your treatment. Approximately once or twice a week, you will receive an hour-long, low-dose IV infusion session (around 0.5 mg/kg/hr.). Infusions last for forty minutes followed by a recovery period of twenty minutes. It is not uncommon for patients to experience mild side effects during the course of their treatment, such as a feeling of floating or relaxation. These side effects usually subside as soon as the infusion has ended.

In some cases, the Anesthesiologist/Anesthetist will suggest follow-up IV infusion sessions based on your symptoms and response to the infusion. Infusions are carefully monitored to ensure that all protocols and best practices for your safety are being followed.
